Ok what the heck am I doing here in Kamloops and of all types of restaurants in Kamloops a Mexican restaurant? I actually found this place on TA since it was rated the #1 restaurant and I love Mexican food so I wanted to give it a try.
The location is not near the rest of the other restaurants and mall and you would totally miss it if you weren’t looking for fit. We’re very glad we did. Like others have said it’s not much to look at from the outside but it’s a pleasant surprise inside.
The price isn’t cheap but it’s what you would pay at an Earl’s or Moxie's so it’s not outrageous by any means.
The food is very authentic Mexican, yes no free nachos but to be honest some other places that do offer free nachos aren’t very good anyways so this really shouldn’t be an issue. I know I’m contradicting myself with the description of authentic Mexican by ordering their Texmex Nachos but oh man they were good and the portion was huge. We felt full after polishing off the nachos but once our entrees arrived we couldn’t resist.
I had ordered the Enchiladas Poblanas and I normally don’t like Mole sauce but this was perfect. The aroma and spices fused perfectly.
Even though I was full, I could not say no to dessert. I’ve had the 3 milk cake in Mexico before and really wasn’t that appealing to me, but I was convinced to try it here and I’m glad I did. All I can say is awesome!
This place is a true gem and you must stop by if you’re in Kamloops. The portions are big, the service is good and friendly, and the drinks are strong! What more can you ask for?
